ETERNAL PROMISE: THE SPIRIT UPON US

ETERNAL PROMISE: THE SPIRIT UPON US

My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants. Isaiah 59:21

In Isaiah 59:21, God promises that His Spirit will be upon us, and His words will not depart from our mouths or the mouths of our descendants. This verse is a beacon of hope, assuring us of God’s enduring presence and guidance through His Spirit and His Word.

Imagine a mighty river flowing endlessly, its waters pure and life-giving. This river represents the Spirit of God, which never runs dry and continually refreshes our souls. Just as a river nourishes the land it passes through, God’s Spirit nourishes our hearts, minds, and spirit, leading us to a deeper relationship with Him.

Like seeds sown in fertile soil, God’s words take root in our hearts and bear fruit in our lives. They provide wisdom, guidance, and strength, enabling us to navigate life’s challenges and grow in our faith. As we meditate on His Word day and night, it becomes a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105), guiding us in the way we should go.

This promise extends to us and our descendants, showing the generational impact of a life lived according to God’s Word. As we pass on this legacy of faith, we witness the fulfillment of God’s promise in the lives of those who come after us.

Let us, therefore, hold fast to God’s Word, allowing His Spirit to work in and through us, so that His light may shine brightly in us and through us, drawing others to Him. May we never cease to declare His truth and goodness, that His name may be glorified all over the earth.

THE UNCHANGING FAITHFULNESS OF GOD

THE UNCHANGING FAITHFULNESS OF GOD

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13

In our walk of faith, we may stumble, falter, and even find ourselves in moments of doubt. Yet, amid our faithlessness, one truth remains unwavering—God’s faithfulness. 2 Timothy 2:13 reminds us, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”

God’s faithfulness is not contingent upon our own. It is a fundamental aspect of His character. From generation to generation, His faithfulness endures, a beacon of hope for all who seek Him. When we feel unworthy or uncertain, we can find solace in knowing that God remains steadfast in His love and promises.

Let us, then, respond to this unchanging faithfulness with a deeper commitment to pursue Christ. Let us immerse ourselves in His Word, the ultimate guide for our lives. As we study the Scriptures, we understand who God is and His perfect plan for us. Let us also seek fellowship with other believers, for iron sharpens iron, and we can grow stronger in our faith together.

As we strive to live according to the teachings of the Holy Bible, let us pray for God’s guidance and strength. Let us pray for a heart that seeks after Him above all else and a spirit that is receptive to His leading. May we be reminded daily of God’s unwavering faithfulness, and may it inspire us to live a life that brings glory to His name.

GOD IS FAITHFUL

GOD IS FAITHFUL

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

Hope is something we all do. We hope that traffic won’t be too bad when we leave for work or school. During the yearly review, the hope is we get better ratings and better bonuses. Sitting in the doctor’s office, we hope all is well and to hear how well we have been taking care of our bodies. However, hope for Christians takes a whole new level, for it is the supporting block of our faith.

The Bible teaches us to hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, Why? Not because we are superior to others or have it all under control, No. Even those who walked with Jesus wavered. Peter walked on water but soon began to sink because his faith wavered. An Ishmael was born because faith wavered. And yet we see that Peter did not drown and Issac is still called the promised child. The Bible gives us several examples of mighty men and women who walked with God and their wavering faith to know for a fact, that He who promised is faithful.

Are there areas in your life, you find hard to trust God with? Is your faith wavering? Are you growing impatient with waiting on God? Friends, let not the devil fool you. Let him not steal your dream, kill your hope, or destroy your faith. Shout out your faith till your spirit and soul come into agreement. Let your whole neighborhood know the hope you have in Jesus. Confess your faith with unwavering hope because even though you grow faint of waiting on God, God will never let go of His promise to you. He is faithful.

YOUR ETERNAL ADDRESS

YOUR ETERNAL ADDRESS

If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:3

The book of John speaks a lot about Glory. Towards the final chapters, Jesus increases the number of times He tells His disciples that He will be glorified – Be lifted High. Unlike the royalties of earth, where the king is lifted high, Jesus was to be lifted high on the cross with much ridicule, rejection, and shame.

Jesus said and did many things that were strange for His disciples to follow. He spoke about being betrayed. He washed their feet and dried them with a towel; dined with them, and offered them bread which was to represent His flesh, and wine which represented His blood. He told Peter how he would deny Jesus three times. All this was very disturbing and sorrowful for the disciples, and Jesus felt their sorrow.

Rather than wallowing in the suffering Jesus was about to face, He laid aside His troubles and comforted His disciples by telling them, If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

This promise is true and comforting to each one of us as well. Though there may be many sorrows today, take courage. For one day Jesus will come to receive us that where He is, we also may be. As you look at the empty cross today, remember, Jesus is preparing a place for you.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER

LOVE ONE ANOTHER

May the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you. 1 Thessalonians 3:12

Apostle Paul was no stranger to persecution, threat, betrayal, and the multitude of effects that living in a society brings. However, he modeled the attitude of His savior. Jesus faced betrayal by his closest disciples. His own family rejected His claim to be the son of God. The place where He was celebrated, was the same place where He was mocked and ridiculed. But what Jesus went through never allowed Him to stop loving mankind. In fact, it pained Him to see us wandering like lost sheep, and He cried out to the Father on our behalf and hasn’t stopped interceding for us.

Apostle Paul copied this same pattern for the churches he planted, and you and I too have an opportunity to reflect Jesus. Not all of us can be planting churches, hosting a prayer meeting, or being preachers, but you and I are the church of the Living God. Be it in our family, neighbourhood, workplace, or even the playground, we all are capable of loving people because God first loved us. People around us may be difficult. They may be annoying or undeserving of our love. But think about it, where would we have been if God chose to look at our deeds before deciding if He should love us?

We have received undeserving love and experienced the agape love of God. How much more ought we to give it out then? In fact, the second commandment in the New Testament is, “You shall love your neighbor like yourself“. Let us make today’s devotional a prayer for ourselves and others that our Lord may make us increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just like He loved us all.

GOD’S PROMISED ME HIS LOVE

GOD’S PROMISED ME HIS LOVE

For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, Who has mercy on you. Isaiah 54:10

How many times have we trusted someone and been let down? Unfortunately, the number is more than what we’d like it to be. Sometimes, words are broken out of choice. Like a marriage proposal, you were so sure of until came a better suitor who could provide what you could not. Ouch! At times words are broken out of unavoidable circumstances. Having to be laid off due to the company downsizing, or the mother who breathed her last and could not see you graduate. Broken promises are painful. They often leave a void in us. A brink in the wall that makes us immune to trusting.

Thankfully, “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19) and this is a fact. So when God says something, we can hang up our boots and know, it will come to pass.

Though impossible seems the situation. It will happen. The medical report may seem like a mountain that you cannot cross; The job may be like an ocean that you cannot understand, but you, be faithful to God. Let His Word abide in you and you in Him. He loves you beyond your comprehension, and His kindness, His covenant of peace, and His mercy will never fail you. They are here to stay with you forever. That’s God’s promise.

BLESSED THROUGH FORGIVENESS

BLESSED THROUGH FORGIVENESS

Romans 4:7-8 Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.

In this verse, we see a declaration of the incredible blessing that comes from God’s forgiveness. This verse beautifully talks about the joy and relief experienced by those whose sins have been forgiven and enveloped by God’s grace, through Jesus. Through divine forgiveness, our transgressions are no longer held against us, ushering in profound peace and freedom.

Psalm 32:1-2 says “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.” These verses strongly affirm the blessing of having our sins forgiven and highlight the transformative power of God’s mercy.

Moreover, Ephesians 1:7 reminds us by saying “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” Through Jesus Christ, we receive the ultimate expression of God’s grace, which covers all our sins and offers us redemption.

As believers, understanding the depth of God’s forgiveness should inspire gratitude and humility within our hearts. It reassures us that irrespective of our past, God’s grace is more than sufficient to cover our sins and restore us to righteousness. This truth brings immense comfort and encourages us to live in the freedom and blessing of His forgiveness. In turn, inspiring a more Christ-like behaviour.

Today, let us take a moment to deeply reflect on the incredible blessing of God’s forgiveness. Let us embrace the joy and peace that emanate from knowing our sins are covered and not counted against us. May we live in the freedom of this truth and allow it to inspire a heart filled with gratitude and a life characterized by righteousness.

GOD’S PROMISES? YES & AMEN!

GOD’S PROMISES? YES & AMEN!

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

We find a powerful affirmation of the certainty and reliability of God’s promises. Every promise God has made finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ, affirming His faithfulness and truth. This verse reassures us that in Christ, God’s promises are confirmed and fulfilled with a resounding “yes” and “amen.”

This assurance brings immense comfort to believers. As stated in Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” God’s unwavering commitment to His word provides a solid foundation for our faith.

Moreover, Hebrews 10:23 encourages us to “hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful”. This underscores the reliability of God’s promises and calls us to trust steadfastly in His word.

As we journey through life, we can face challenges and uncertainties with confidence, knowing that God’s promises in Christ are always “yes” and “amen”. This trust not only brings glory to God but also strengthens our faith and inspires us to live boldly for Him.

Today, embrace the certainty of God’s promises. By trusting in His unwavering faithfulness, we glorify Him; finding strength and hope in every situation, knowing that His promises are always fulfilled in Christ. So start your day today by saying “YES & AMEN.”
